As Honorary Colonel of 31 Signal Squadron, Lord Sarfraz attended Defence Cyber Marvel 2026 in Singapore.
Defence Cyber Marvel is one of the most demanding multinational cyber defence exercises in the world. Held from 9 to 13 February 2026, the fifth edition of the exercise brought together over 2,500 personnel from 29 nations, drawn from 70 different organisations to form 36 competing teams, including representatives from UK Defence and a range of UK Government departments. Singapore hosted the exercise for the first time. The competition tests participants' skills in stopping potential cyber-attacks against allied forces in real-world scenarios to build their capabilities within the cyber and electromagnetic domain. Teams operate under sustained pressure, defending against simulated attacks on critical infrastructure, government networks, and private-sector systems — scenarios designed to mirror genuine threats faced daily by the UK and its allies.
