Lord Sarfraz met with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia’s longest serving Prime Minister, who approaches his 100th birthday in July.
Dr Mahathir shared his experiences on leadership, governance and faith - as well as the future of the Muslim world.
He stressed the need for leaders to listen and embrace diverse perspectives, saying “A leader must listen. If a leader only talks, he will only hear himself talking of the things he already knows, but if he listens, he may learn a thing or two of other people’s views and opinions”.
